My journey started out of necesity:
By day I teach 8 year olds at my local junior school, for my efforts I am paid approx $400 USD (1250 pesos) a month. Only just enough to survive, certainly no luxuries, and not enough to give my 9yr old son a head start in life.
So, I turned to the internet about 3 months ago, searching for ways "to make money online". I was looking for something I could do from home, and at the hours I wanted. There really is a lot of rubbish out there, but after filtering through the crap I found several online forums where poker players were talking honestly about their performances. A LOT of poker players were talking about their performances. This was important to me is it gave the idea that poker can be a source of extra income credibility.
Two months ago I decided to save what little money I could, then spend my spare time learning about the game.
During October I was googling and found a free poker school. I was suspicious at first but emailed the website owner several times. He seemed a good guy and gave some really good advice, a free ebook to get me started, and the offer of help if and when I wanted it.
I now feel ready to go, in fact last week I started playing for real money for the first time. Admittedly only at the 5c/10c tableswith a free $10 that a poker room offers, but it feels great to be putting what I have learnt so far in to practice.
In 3 months I have managed to save, beg, steal and borrow $150 USD. In the coming weeks I hope (and expect) to turn this into a suitable bankroll to be playing 50c/$1 and $1/$2 limit texas hold 'em. Next post is how I intend to do this!
Wish me luck.

And so it begins
Hi, my name is Millinario.
Today marks the first day charting what I hope will be a rewarding journey into the world of online poker.
A little about myself: I'm a 28 year old single Mum from Argentina, not a typical poker player's profile I guess.
My goals are purely financial, life has become expensive for me and after spending many weeks searching the internet I have decided that playing online poker in my spare time represents an ideal way for me to supplement my regular income.
I haven't entered in to this lightly, being very thorough in my preparation. I have a long way to go. Over the next week I am going to outline what I've learnt so far and my strategies.
Wish me luck!
Millinario.
